KCH were represented at multiple events at today’s Open Cross Country in Abbottstown. In the Junior Men 6K Callum Barrron, Ruairi McEvoy and Kyrell Mtinsi placed 6th, 7th and 21st respectively. The Junior Ladies had 4.5K where Clodagh O’Callaghan was 9th and Pia Langton not far behind her in 11th place. Hannah Kehoe went in the Senior Ladies 6K and finished in 16th place. In the Senior Men 8K we had two athletes – Cathal O’Reilly and Will Fox. Cathal came 12th with Will finishing 37th.
The young juveniles were out in big numbers in the relays. The under 11 girls had four teams – coming 6th, 25th, 30th and 34th. The under 13 girls came 11th and the under 15 girls were the pride group of the day – winning gold. In the mixed relays our under 12 teams placed 12th, 25th, 31st and 38th – a great day’s experience for these young athletes.
Meanwhile over in Amsterdam Colm Smyth knocked 5 minutes off his marrathon time to finish in 2.49.10.
