Another great evening of running and celebration with a very successful Streets of Kilkenny. They came from the four provinces in great numbers – over eighty clubs were represented – over eighty of our Harriers ran in the race – Olympians (men and women) were represented – new records were set – some eighteen completed the course under 15 minutes. 

Andrew Coscoran, Star of the Sea, claimed the €800 on offer as he crossed the finish line setting a new course record of 14.14.  For the ladies Ide Nic Dhomhnaill did likewise setting a new an impressive record of 15.48. The minor winners were Mitchell Byrne, Rathfarnham WSAF 14.22 and Michael Harty, East Cork 14.23 for the men and Lizzie Lee, Leevale 16.19 and Cheryl Nolan, St Abban’s 16.26 for the ladies. 

This being part of the club’s 70th celebration the race included a team competition. Our men’s team of Eoin Everard 4th 14.27, Brian Maher 14th 14.58, Jamie Gahan 15th 14.58 and James Ledingham 22nd 15.06 were first team. Our first four ladies home were Claire Dermody 33rd 19.03, Orla McPhillips 35th 19.09, Jacinta Mulroe 64th 20.40, Caoimhe Foley 66th 20.46 who placed fourth. St Abban’s led by Cheryl Nolan were first ladies team.
