The National Juvenile Indoor finals were held in TUS, Athlone over the weekend. Twenty two of our juveniles made the trip and all competed very well. In terms of rewards apart from numerous PBs six medals were won – 1 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze. There were also four 4th place finishers.

The U12s  had Aoibhinn Kelly who competed in 60m and Long Jump. 

For the U13s we had Mollie Rose Keegan, Jasmine Timmons McEneaney, Ria Quinn (High jump) and Fiach Crowley (hurdles). Mollierose and Jasmine got through to the 60m final where Jasmine won bronze in 8.42.

Ellen Daly, 60m,  and Sinead Cormack, 800, were our U14 representatives.

Under 15 we had Kate Maher placing 4th in the 60m final and Kyrell Mtinsi winning silver in the 800m.

Our gold medal was won in the U16s by Molly Daly in the 200m final (25.32) and Kate Maher came close in the 60m final finishing 4th. Clodagh O’Callaghan was 4th in her 800m (2.21.16) and Ruth Crowley competed in the 60m.

Best for the U17s was Pia Langton winning silver in the 800m (2.16.71). Others who competed well were Hannah Quinn, Ella Wall and Grace Delahunty.

Adam Slawinski starred for the U18s finishing 6th in the 60m final and winning silver in the 200m (22.91). Blaithin Holden competed in 60m and 60m hurdles while William Nugent ran the 200m.

In U19 we had Amelia Foley in the Long Jump and a busy Noah Gilmore who as well as doing the 60m sprint won bronze in the Long Jump (6.03) and was fourth in the High Jump (1.70).   

With the Indoor season over it will be outdoor track and field for the next four months.
