There were some great runs by club members in the Leinster Schools cross country in Santry today. Kyrell Mtinsi, St Kieran’s was in top form as he lead the race from start to finish and helped his team to first place in the minor race. Paul Millea in 9th place also scored. Robert Coogan, CBS, ran well to place 5th.
In the junior races St Kieran’s were second team and Clodagh O’Callaghan, Presentation, was 5th and the school team won silver. Other club members involved were Aine Foley, Presentation and Evelyn McEvoy, Loreto.
Loreto had excellent runners in the Intermediate with Cristina Capitan Martin 10th and Pia Langton 16th. In action for the boys were Ruairi McEvoy 14th, Paddy Kelly 21st and Cormac Holden.
Hannah Kehoe won individual gold for Loreto in the senior with the team placing second. Others on the Loreto panel were Isabelle Burke, Alexia Albertin Molinera and Pia O’Grady. St Kieran’s were fourth team. CBS had a strong runner in Billy Coogan who placed third. Other Harriers in the race were Tom Lodge, St Kierans, Matthew McCarthy, CBS and Myles Hewlitt, CBS New Ross.
St Kieran’s won the shield for best overall club. Best wishes in the national.
