JUVENILES–With the B All Irelands being held in Gowran it afforded an opportunity for experiencing competition without much travel. KCH availed of the opportunity and did well there. The juveniles had four teams competing – boys and girls u11 and u13. The under 11 girls (Kate Kelly, Ella O’Flaherty, Mealla Crowley, Ellen Ryan and Kate Byrne) were 7th with Kate in super form to win silver and also lead the county team to third place. The boys ( Conor Knox, Eoin Hoyne, Evan Cody, Tadhg McGuinness, Tommy FitzPatrick, Theo Cooney) were 10th club with Conor winning bronze with the third placed county team. The under 13 girls (Emma Kelly, Lauren Daly, Hannah Ryan, Mollierose Keegan) had a great day out and finished third club. Emma finishing 10th also won silver with the county team. Boys Under 13 (Daire O’Flaherty, Killian Croke, Fiach Crowley, Daniel Devine) also did well to finish eight. Daire in 23rd and Killian in 38th won silver by scoring on the county team.
INTERMEDIATE — Our Intermediate ladies were great to place fifth. Orla McPhillips 25th, Claire Dermody 27th and Caoilfhionn Ni Argain 37th won bronze with the county team. Lisa Collins and Kate Millea supported in 38th and 50th respectively. Eamon O’Connor was 37th in the men’s race and scored on the county team which was fifth.
MASTERS– Helen Bacon and Anne Marie Shortall helped the county team to sixth place in the over 50s. The 35-40 Master’s men team finished 13th with best performer Trust Mtinsi in 37th place. Other team members were Graham Bourne, Andrew Smyth and Denis Vasiljevs. Trust also scored on the 6th placed county team.
