Our juveniles travelled in large numbers to Athlone for the county indoor championships. Bringing home over 150 medals – One hundred individual and twelve relay teams – insured that the Nicholas Flavin Shield for best juvenile club was retained by the club.
Outstanding performer of the day Was Kyrell Mtinsi with four golds – 60m, 200, 800m and triple jump. Runners up for that accolade were Molly Daly – three golds- 60m, 60m hurdles and 200m; and Adam Slawinski -also three golds – 60m, 200m and long jump.
Clean sweeps were recorded in numerous events – Under 11 girls 60m (Julia Daly, Kate Kelly, Ellen Ryan); Under 11 girls Long Jump (Mealla Crowley, Ella O’Flaherty, Kate Byrne); Under 11 boys Long Jump (Cathal Comerford, Simon Brennan, Eoin Hoyne); Under 17 Girls 200m (Grace Delahunty, Hannah Quinn, Ella Wall); Under 18/19 boys 60m (Adam Slawinski, Conor Byrne, Noah Gilmore), 200m (Adam Slawinski, Conor Byrne, William Nugent), Long Jump (Adam Slawinski, Noah Gilmore, Conor Byrne).
