Another notable weekend for KCH with athletes at Indoors, Cross-country and on the Road.

The Indoors – Adam Slawinski and Alex Cullen were in action at the national Junior Indoors in the national indoor arena at Abbotstown. Adam ran the 200m in 23.01 and finished 6th in the 60m final where his time was 7.18 having already had 7.16 when winning his heat. Alex’s time for his 200m was 23.22and he placed 4th in the long jump with a best jump of 6.15.

The cross-country was in Avondale, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow where KCH had four teams taking part in the Leinster juvenile cross-country relays. All ran well. The under 14 girls, all of whom are under 13, placed 7th. The team was Amelia O’Brien, Alicja Slawnski, Emma Kelly and Jasmine Timmons McEneaney. The under 12 boys won bronze. Great achievement by these boys – Eoin Hoyne, Conor Knox, Cathal Comerford, Simon Brennan and Tommy FitzPatrick. Girls under 12 – a great panel and great result with one team  – Julia Daly, Kate Kelly, Ellen Ryan, Aoibhinn Kelly – bringing home silver and the other team – Hannah O’Brien, Ella O’Flaherty, Mealla Crowley and Madeline Kemple – doing very well indeed.

The road was in Houston Texas – Here Peter Lynch, fresh from his exploits at cross-country in Donegal and Turin, took to the road to take part in his first half- marathon. True to form he took part in style and covered the course in 1.03.19 – 19th of 13,011 and 5th in his own age cohort – the fastest time by any KCH athlete.

A great weekend. Thanks to all involved – athletes, coaches and family supports.
