Christmas is over. January is here. There will be no County Kilkenny Indoors this year but there will still be plenty of action.
Jan 06 – Ross Daly took advantage of the Indoor League to have a run. Guesting in the 200m he clocked 23.02.
Jan 07 – Our adults made a good start to the cross country competitions with first team medals for the ladies and first and second team medals for the men at the co Intermediate in Kilmacow. Claire Dermody took individual gold and Grainne Behan won individual silver. Lisa collins was 7, Gretta Beckett 8, Kate Millea 11, Kate Sugrue 13, Annemarie Shortall 14, Eileen Morgan 15 and Helen Bacon 17. The men scored as follows – 4 Graham Bourne, 5 Andrew Smyth, 8 Shay Roddy, 9 Paul Bolger, 10 Paddy Walsh, 11 Colm Smith, 13 Mike Cullen, 15 Denis Vasilyers, 19 Matthew Warren, 26 Brendan O’Driscoll.
Jan 10 – And it’s Wednesday night at the NIA Abbottstown. In action were the following – Kate Maher 60m (8.15), Martha Bergin 60m (8.47), Daniel Greene 60m (8.88) and 800m (2.27.30), Molly Daly 60m (7.93), Amelia O’Brien 800 (2.39.06) and Myles Hewlett mile (4.30.81).
Jan 13 – From CC to track – Graham Bourne in action in the national masters indoors and winning silver in the Walk O/45 (23.36.07) and 4th in WFD (2.96).
Jan 13 – First International of the season – The Celtic cross country in Renfrew, Glasgow. Cathal O’Reilly running in the U23 race was placed 4th and was the first member of the Irish team to finish. The team won silver.
