The sun made an appearance today to welcome the athletes to Fenagh, Co Carlow for the South Leinster Schools CC. So it would be a grand day for the job! Not so as the previous weeks rain and a recent cross country event meant the course was already a quagmire. There some excellent individual results among the various schools teams. Loreto had gold in the senior ladies and silver with the junior girls. The Presentation had second place in Senior ladies and St Kieran’s had third place in senior men.
Individual results: Girls – Junior – 3 Emily O’Keeffe, 11 Maria Kraljevic, 19 Heidi Ryan, 59 Lucy Maher (all Loreto) and 23 Emma Kelly (Presentation). Inter – 2 Amelia O’Brien, Loreto; 4 Katie Byrne, St Mary’s, New Ross; Sinead Cormack, Presentation. Senior – 10 Hazel Coogan, 20 Evelyn McEvoy, both Loreto and Eimear Cormack Presentation.
