What a busy day in Tullamore today. Big crowds and fierce competition with heats, heats and more heats – followed by semifinals and finals in the sprint events – a lot of running to be done if you were a medal contender or even close to being in the final.
In the U9 long jump Niamh Hoyne 4th and Grace Healy 9th brought the pair into third place – Leinster Medals and still under nine! Jack O’Shea had an individual 3rdin Turbo Javelin but had no partner to make a team.
The U10 pair of Cian McIntyre 5th and Jonah Cleere 7th paid dividends with 2nd place in the long jump. Jonah was part of the U11 county relay team which won bronze.
In the U11 pairs Eddie Kemple and Winter Rose Molloy collected bronze in the 600m. Conor Lawerence Delaney had a good high jump competition and finished with bronze. Daniel Quinn was also close and finished 6th. Conor also made it to the semi-final of the 60m to place 5th. Daniel Quinn and Aaron Tyrrell also made the semi-finals with both placing 7th in their respective races.
Bella Quaglia took the silver in the U13 Shot where Teagin Mtinsi placed 5th. Bella also finished 5th in the semi-final of the 80m. Caelan Bambrick had an excellent competition to place 4th in the shot.
