Today was Leinster Relay Day held in Leixlip. KCH had great numbers out and had equally great results finishing (It appears) second to Rathoath who had big wins in the older ages. This is not to take away from a fine overall performance by our boys and girls. Winning 13 sets of team medals in a Leinster event is a good days work in any sport. So well done boys and girls – four gold, five silver and four bronze. The gold medals were won by boys U17 (4×400), Under 11 girls (4×100) and boys under 14 and girls under 14 with the latter two teams coming quite close to setting championship records.
Silver medals were won by boys under 10, girls under 12, 13, 15 and 18. Bronze were won by boys under 9, boys under 17 (4×100), Girls under 16 and girls under 18 (4×100).
Five further teams made it through to the finals – girls U10 in 4th, girls U17 in 5th and the boys had teams finishing in sixth place in under 11, 12 and 15. All our teams gave of their best and we congratulate them and their coaches and managers and wish more success to all those qualified for the nationals.
