KCH had eight athletes taking part in the Leinster Combined Events in Carlow today. There were seven in under 13 – five girls and two boys. All did well. Kara Canavan scored 1,o35 points to place 7th in a large field of competitors. Emily Long, Hannah Devine, Liadan Blanche and Emily Knox had good competition which will be very good experience for future involvement. The two under 13 boys were Thomas Hayes and Shay Molloy finishing 6th and 7th respectively. Star of the day was Kyrell Mtinsi. He had first in 75m hurdles, 3rd in long jump, 4th in shot and 8th in high jump. Then with a strong run in the 800m he took another first and with a points total of 1709 he won the penthatlon gold.
