The weatherman was a spoil sport with his forecast for today. Yellow weather alert for the country – heavy rain with thunder. However the programme for JohnNeedsPembro went ahead in Scanlon Park. Truth be told participants were more wet with sweat than with rain. There were many new PBs achieved as our pacers – Eoin Molloy, Brian Maher, Eoin Everard, Toss Hayes and Irene Henebry – did an excellent job of setting the pace and encouraging the runners. Our juveniles also did their stuff. One to watch for in time will be Hannah O’Brien who lit up the track with her speed as she sped to the front to win the U8 Cup. Charlie Canavan took the boys U8 Cup. In the under 10 races Ava Hanrahan was first in the girls race while Senan Walsh and Patrick Wall shared the spoils in the boys race. The under 12 winners were Girls -Kate Maher and boys – Tiernan O’Brien. A very sincere thank to all involved – especially all who contributed finnancially to the fund and those who provided Raffle Prizes – Donna Dunne Fitness; James O’Brien, butchers; Spar, Callan road; The Watershed.
