A bright day but the going was soft in Abbottstown today for the Athletics Ireland open cross country. We had three athletes involved competing at different levels. All three did us proud. Shay McEvoy covered the 6k course in 18.54 to claim the bronze – a good omen for the Leinster Juniors next Saturday in Gowran. Brian Maher comfortably retained the masters crown in the over 40s while Eoin Everard placed 12th in the seniors. The county seniors in The Castle Park on 3rd Nov will give the locals an opportunity to see these men, and many others, in action
