Todays 5KM in Stoneyford was well attended. The juveniles 1K got proceedings under way and Ruairi McEvoy who had been prominent from the start made it home in third place. KCH were very much to the fore in the adult event. Prominent at the early stages were Peter Lynch, Shay McEvoy and Aiobhe Richardson and they were still out in front at the finish. Peter made it first across the finish line under the 15 minutes  (14.54) with Shay in second place , not far behind (15.08). Aoibhe Richardson (17.22) was first lady home. Dec 25 The Christmas Run

This morning's RUN was special. The weather was kind. The numbers were big. The atmosphere was exciting AND the generosity of the participants was fantastic. With considerable advance publicity that all proceeds of this year's run were going to the "John Needs Pembro " cause there was a much higher than average turnout. There were loads of spot prizes and lollypops too. Eoin O'Flynn made contact from Toronto regretting his inability to attend he hopes to make in in 2019! Many stories were swapped and friendships renewed AND there was 3,200+ euro for JNP. Major thanks to all.   [...]

Dec 15 Bronze for U19 Team

The weather man forecast an orange warning. It turned out to be a little less than yellow. For the under 19 boys it was bronze. And for Shay McEvoy it was silver. The final cross-country of 2018 was for the national Uneven age Juvenile and Novice, held on the racecourse in Navan co Meath. Our U19 boys had Shay McEvoy setting a strong pace over the hilly course. His efforts brought him national silver and was a major help to the club team which finished in third place. James Kearney (31) was second scorer with Kevin Burns (41) not far [...]

Dec 02 Cathy is Number 1

Cathy Millett stood out in the Ladies O/50 cross country championships in Gowran today. The race, run in conjunction with the men's race, saw Cathy as the leading lady from the start. Running a steady pace throughout and leaving a number of the men in her wake she was a comfortable winner of the gold- a new county champion.

Dec 01 The Waterford Half

We had a large contingent taking part in this year's Waterford Half Marathon - some with great success. For the men Toss Hayes took third place in 1.08.12. Trust Mnisti was next in 1.16.48 and then followed a dozen or so culminating with Ian Comerford who finsihed in 1.53.08. Caitriona Muldowney led our ladies in. Her time of 1.30.22 gave her first place in the O/35s. Caoimhe Foley with 1.33.15 was fifth in the same category. For many runners these distance races are more about times than places. For others its about getting to the finish and for some like [...]
