The second day of the County Track and Field was another good day for KCH. Many medals were won but it was the weather and the turnout that made the day enjoyable for us all. Some seventy individual medals were won and the relay teams were a joy yo watch – seven teams won gold, two took silver and three got bronze. The relay result means 48 of our juveniles got a medal by being a member of a team. Among those who contributed to the overall result were double gold winners Darragh O’Callaghan u8, Mattias Quaglia u11, Kate Maher u11, Molly Daly u12 and Amelie Foley u15. Sean Young had an exceptional day winning two gold, one silver, one bronze and a further gold with the relay team.

It was also good to see a number of our seniors in action thanks to Fit4Life and Pat Purcell’s C25K. Orla McPhillips won the Senior 800 and Mossy Roantree place third inthe men’s. The ladies had a clean sweep in the Novice 800 with Kate Millea, Sheila O’Callaghan and Anita Byrne. Graham Bourne, Tony Lauhoff and David Lawlor were first home in the 800 over 35, 40 and 50 respectively. Another “surprise” was winning medals in the Discus Joan Martin 2nd senior and Joya Burns third senior – It must be the coaching!!
