Oct 07 To Be or Not to Be?

Well that is the QUESTION. Are you a club member? Did you compete in the County Championships? If not, did you let the coach that has been training you know that you would not be running? So three questions!!! The ANSWER to all three should be YES.

And so a relatively small number of club members travelled to Ballycurran Cross for Round 1 of the County Kilkenny Cross-country Championships. Those who travelled did themselves and the club proud. With just three teams scoring and gathering 8 points it will take a miracle to get our name on the shield this year. From our under 8s to the under 18s there were excellent performances. Kate Maher took individual gold and led the girls under 10 team  into first place. She had great team support from Martha Bergin, Emma Hogan, Lily Ryan, Lauren Skehan and a host of under 9 girls. Robert Lacey was first home in the boys race under 8. Harry Boyle was outstanding for the under 14 boys. All team members made a huge effort and were rewarded with team silver. The third team to medal was the boys under 18. They showed a clean sheet to score 1, 2, 3 and 4. Together for a couple of years now they will be a challenge to any club in the Leinster Finals on 27th October.

Just two KCH ladies contested the over 40s race and they did so in fine style. Supporting each other throughout the race they finished   Maria Cormack 2nd, Kate Millea 3rd. (Full Results to follow)
