Our under 11 girls were 4th club in the Leinster B Cross Country today led by a star performance by Eva Hoyne in 7th place. Others to feature were Jane Byrne, Winter Rose Molloy, Cara Burke, Sofia KaurChalal, Tamson Clarke, Elsie Clarke, Clodagh O'Connor and Summer Nova Molloy. Eva and Jane scored on the county team which also finished 4th. For the boys it was Joe Phelan who led the field to finish in silver position. The club team placed 6th. Nov 23 Nationals in Derry

It was a long trip for the even ages as they made the trip to Derry for the national cross country. There were very big entries and the course was tough -wind - rain and plenty of muck to spare. Nevertheless there were some excellent results. Daniel Greene was in fine form to take the gold in the under 14 race. STOOK With the heavy rain brought by Claudia now gone it was ideal weather for this year's Stook, hosted by Gowran AC. KCH had a number of athletes on the road. Emily O'Keeffe took on the 5K and ran well to place second lady. In the Stook 10 mile there were good results for the club in the county section of the race. Once again our juveniles gave us plenty of cheer. None more so than the under twelves - their top athletes were not eligible to run having already won the county A's. So they just went out to Freshford and won first and third team medals in both girls and boys. It was a bright morning on the racecourse in Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath as the crowds gathered for the Leinster Uneven Ages and Senior Cross Country Championships. And for KCH it continued to be a bright day as the athletes performed well and were rewarded with good placings and many medals. While Grace Richardson was winning the 5K Abbott Dash three other KCH ladies were testing themselves in the marathon. And they did well. Lisa Collins and Claire Dermody cross the line in 3.22.15 and Anita Byrne was close to them in 3.24.36. Well done ladies.

Nov 01 Shay & Billy in US

As the cross country season gathers pace for the U.S. Colleges our two men have performed well. Shay McEvoy, Tulsa, had a great run to finish 3rd in the American Athletic Conference and lead his team into first place. Billy Coogan, Iona, running in the Metro Atlantic Conference, placed 10th with the Iona team finishing first team in the race.

Oct 26 Marathon Day

Marathons were the order of the day today. Some thirty or so KCH athletes were in action covering some 1200Km with most of the distance being done in Dublin but three travelled to Germany and two to Portugal. There were many PBs. Roseanna Knox knocked four minutes of her previous best time. It was debut time for Aoife Nolan running her first.  There were many excellent times leading to happy if tired homecoming.  RESULTS Frankfurt - Tomasz Jarabek 3.15.02, Mike O'Shaughnessy 3.19.40, Ger Forde 2.20.27. Gowran athletic club hosted this year's Even Ages and Novice Leinster cross country. Of the twelve championship races KCH had athletes competing in eleven - the odd one out being the boys U16. Championship medals were won in nine of the races with a total of 68 Leinster Championship medals coming to the club. Nine of the club medals were gold - won by an exceptional performance by the boys U12, who also had a second team in 10th place, and the usual quality run by Daniel Greene in the boys U14 leading his team to gold.
