What a great event is The Streets of Kilkenny! The Entries  were hardly open when it was sold out this year. Demand was such that spare numbers were in huge demand leading up to the event. Many thanks to all involved - Members of the organising committee, Volunteers on the night, our important sponsors (including Peugeot), the race entrants  and of course all the supporters on the night.  Race Results  KCH had 135 runners in the race and in the Peugeot Race Series our team placed 2nd. ATHLONE Most of the action was at the National juvenile indoor finals in Athlone. KCH had three gold medal finishes including two Championship Records. Fiach Crowley took the first gold with a PB of 23.76 in the U16 60m hurdles. The two Championship records came via Victor Lamph in U18 400m (PB 48.97) and Molly Daly in U19 400 (54.25). This weekend was a joy for all in KCH or indeed for anyone associated with the club or having an interest in athletics. It started with the U20's national indoors with Molly Daly (400m) and Pia Langton (1500m). Both won gold in their respective events, set new championship records and in the process qualified for the World juniors. That was on Saturday. Then on Sunday it was the turn of the National Masters Indoors. Double gold for O/65 Noel Murphy (400m & 800m); Gold for O/45 Jenny McIntyre (WFD) and Gold for O/50Niamh Spratt O'Shea (Shot). With the Leinster Schools CC taking place on 27th Feb it was a quick turn around for today's All-Ireland with travel to Belfast. Loreto had star performers in Emily O'Keeffe, 18th in Intermediate, and senior girls Hazel Coogan and Evelyn McEvoy, 35th and 60th respectively, helping the team to the gold medals.  Borris Vocational had Daniel Greene winning bronze in The Minor race and Tom Murphy placing 30th in the senior race. Sinead Cormack, Presentation placed 18th in Intermediate. St Kieran's College had two fine results from Sam Woodcock, 18th in the Junior race and Kyrell Mtinsiplacing 4th in Intermediate [...]

While last weekend was relatively quiet this weekend was anything but with action in many quarters.  The Leinster Juvenile Indoors in Athlone provided the major source of that action. KCH with fifty plus athletes involved had a very successful championship with in excess of twenty medals returning home. There was gold for Aaron Tyrell (U13 - 600); Cillian Maher U13 -walk)Daniel McIntyre (U13 - long jump); Daniel Greene (U15 800); Kyrell Mtinsi (U18 - 800); and Molly Daly  (U19 - 400 CBP).
